You know how to build new relationships—and maintain existing ones—with smart, strategic pitching no matter what the outlet topic, the contact beat, or the audience type. When you’ve got a good story (and sometimes even when you don’t), you know how to pitch and land coverage in the big names (whether The New York Times, TechCrunch, or ABC News) and the trades. At the same time, you’re always keeping an eye out for influential bloggers or social media influencers who might help your client connect with their target audience. Media love working with you because you consistently and reliably help them nail their story.
You like the challenge of working with startups, innovators, disruptors, and other businesses that are looking to you to take their product from something described in terms of facts and figures to a solution that captures attention for the problems it solves, the value it brings, and the revolution it’s creating.
You want to be part of a smart, collaborative team that thinks big for clients, is adept at creating new opportunities and story angles during slow client news times, and that gets genuinely excited at the prospect of turning even the wonkiest client into angles and pitches that are accessible, relevant, and compelling.

You’re responsible, accountable, and you take ownership of clients and projects. You set goals for yourself that help you deliver better for clients—and are always growing professionally. You are comfortable managing up, and have some experience mentoring and managing junior team members.
