AEO Services: Answer Engine Optimization Built on PR
Your buyers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini who to trust before they ever reach a search results page. Answer engine optimization decides whether the answer includes you. We do it with the input the engines actually cite: earned media.
What is answer engine optimization? It is how your brand earns a place in the answers themselves.
Answer engine optimization (AEO) is the practice of earning your brand a place in the answers AI engines give: getting cited as a source, described accurately and recommended when buyers ask who to work with. The market uses several names for the same discipline, including generative engine optimization (GEO), LLM SEO and AI SEO. Whatever the label, the goal is identical, and it is not a ranking. It is what the engine says. Why AEO Runs on PR, Not Just Content

Most AEO providers come from SEO. That is the ceiling.
They optimize what you own. The engines weigh what they trust.
SEO-born AEO providers optimize your site structure, your schema markup and your content. That work is necessary, and we do it. But when a buyer asks an engine which provider to trust, the engine triangulates what independent sources say about you, not what your homepage says.

The engines run on earned media.
Traditional media makes up roughly 43% of the sources ChatGPT says it references for its answers, according to our 2026 Attention Economy PR Report.
Engines weigh independent, credible sources most heavily when they decide which brands to cite and recommend. Coverage in the publications they already trust is the input that changes what they say, and placing that coverage is what PR does.

You cannot publish your own credibility.
A brand can say anything about itself on its own site, and the engines are built to know that.
Third-party validation is the currency of AI answers, and it cannot be minted on your own domain. That is what an SEO shop bolting digital PR onto a technical checklist cannot replicate: the media relationships and the newsroom judgment that get a company written about on its merits.

A narrative-driven approach takes you from being found to being understood.
We’ve been shaping narratives since 2008, and working at the intersection of PR and AI for over a decade. In 2016, Channel V Media helped take AI mainstream in the media when we broke one of the first AI companies into major media outlets. Forbes later credited our firm with taking AI mainstream.
But what’s happening now is different. AI isn’t just something we promote for our clients. It’s become the lens through which audiences discover, evaluate and form opinions about every company.

Decision-makers are doing more self-led discovery than targeted discovery.
Search engines are being replaced by answer engines. Instead of clicking through Google results, they’re asking AI a question and getting a direct answer. That answer is assembled from every signal you and others put into the market.
This means that narrative-driven PR strategies now have a second, compounding effect. They don’t just reach humans, they feed the AI engines that shape how millions of people learn about companies from that point forward.
How We Do It: CVM’s AEO Process
Answer engine optimization is not a one-time fix. It is the process behind our AI visibility practice: built into our PR programs from day one, measured against a baseline and monitored throughout the engagement. Here’s how it works. How We Build a PR Strategy That Feeds AI
Earned Media Placements
in the publications and formats AI engines weight most heavily
Thought Leadership
that establishes your executives as authorities in the categories AI associates with your industry
Data and Research Releases
that give AI engines citable, quantified claims about your company’s impact
Curated Press Releases
crafted with the specific language, keywords and structured data that AI engines extract most readily
Client Success Stories With Metrics
that provide the concrete, results-driven evidence AI uses when making recommendations
2016
Took AI mainstream through PR
Our work with Albert AI helped spark the first wave of mainstream business media coverage of artificial intelligence in marketing—before Salesforce, Oracle or other enterprise players had entered the conversation. Forbes credits Channel V Media with this achievement.
2016–2026
Built deep AI-sector expertise
We’ve represented AI companies across computer vision, marketing automation, conversational AI and machine learning, giving us a front-row seat to how the technology evolved.
2026 & On
Made AI visibility core to every engagement
As generative AI transformed how people research brands, we embedded AI narrative auditing into our standard PR process. Influencing AI engines is now a stated goal on every client account.
AI visibility lives inside CVM’s PR practice. The narrative coherence, the messaging consistency, the way every placement builds Sherweb's narrative in the market. That is the work that AI platforms pull from, and CVM was doing it while most agencies were still figuring it out.
Sherweb
AEO in Action
Sherweb
Shaping AI Narratives for a Global Cloud Solutions Provider
Sherweb had strong product momentum and a large global MSP partner network, but AI engines were describing the company in narrow, outdated terms. We rebuilt the narrative from the ground up, turning a category-generic AI footprint into one that accurately reflects who Sherweb is and where the company is headed.
Climavision
Building Vertical Visibility in AI Search
We conducted an AI engine audit for Climavision, a weather intelligence company, to assess how AI engines represented their capabilities across the energy sector. The audit revealed specific narrative gaps—areas where Climavision’s work with utilities, renewable energy companies and grid operators was invisible to AI despite active media coverage. We used these findings to reshape the PR strategy.
Understanding AI Reputation Across Global Markets
For one of the world’s largest marketplaces, we analyzed how AI engines represented the brand across multiple market dimensions—from product quality perceptions to supply chain narratives. This type of AI narrative audit is especially critical for companies operating in highly discussed, high-scrutiny categories.
Channel V Media
Practicing What We Preach
We run this process on ourselves. Our own AI Visibility Analysis identified that CVM is strongly visible for startup PR and fintech PR queries, but invisible for industry-vertical searches like “SaaS PR agency” and “AI company PR firm.” The optimization blueprint we’re now executing, including this very page, was informed by that analysis.
